Welcome to the St Kilda Iyengar Yoga School Newsletter No 3. In this issue, we announce new classes and courses, provide an update on current events within the School, upcoming workshops and retreats, and general information about how to get the most out of your yoga practice.

FIVE-WEEK COURSES


Winter Course Commencement
The new five-week beginner courses all commence this coming Monday 5 July. Yoga is particularly helpful to maintain strength of body and mind during the cold winter months, and we look forward to seeing you at the classes. Learn more


New Saturday Beginner 1 Course
The Saturday Beginner 1 course will be restarting this Winter, and will be taken by Darren, who received his Introductory Level 1 Qualification this May. Learn more

NEW CLASSES (FROM WEEK OF 12 JULY)

Morning Class
Many people have been requesting an early morning class, which is suitable for the early birds among us to begin a work day.

Wednesdays 6.30-8.00am with Narelle.


Beginner 2 & 3 Class
Now the Beginner 2s and 3s have a Friday morning class taken by Sophie Chandler, who obtained her Introductory Level 1 Qualification this May.

Fridays 9.30-11.00am with Sophie.


Women's Class
Back by popular demand at its original Saturday afternoon time, the women's class introduces and develops poses specially catered to women's needs.

Saturdays 1.00-2.45pm with Meryll.

All new classes begin in the week of 12 July 2004.

OVERSEAS RETREATS

Bali 2004
After a year's break, we will be returning to Chandidasa, Bali, for another of our annual Bali yoga holidays.

This workshop is an excellent opportunity to experience Indonesian culture, explore the markets and local wonders, participate in internationally renouned yoga workshops, or just chill out on the beach.

YOGA RETREAT CENTRE

New Iyengar Yoga Retreat Centre, Tweed Coast

In some very exciting news, we are pleased to announce the opening of a new Iyengar Yoga Retreat Centre nestled in the hinterland of the Tweed Coast, northern NSW. The retreat property is on a spacious 20 acre property with natural rainforest, walking tracks, and plenty of places for private practice and reflection.

We are endeavouring to build an additional habitation in which to house future workshops and retreats. The inaugural workshop will be the Teacher Training Retreat in October 2004. For more details, see below.

Residential Teacher Training Retreat 2004

A six day residential intensive for teacher trainees will be held at the new Tweed Coast Iyengar Retreat Centre (see above) between the dates of 3 and 8 October, 2004. The intensive will count towards assessment, and will provide an excellent opportunity to experience yoga in a new and relaxing environment. Learn more
